Summer Makeup Look - Soph & Beth Beauty ♡

As summer clothes are coming out and holidays are approaching I thought it would be appropriate to create a makeup look to go with the season.
 All of the products mentioned.
The first product I applied to create this look was the Benefit Pore Fessional as my primer. This helps make my makeup stay on longer and creates a smooth base for the makeup to go on to.

The next products I use come hand in hand with eachother. They are the MUA Pro Base prime and conceal in the colours Lilac and Green. I use the lilac one under my eyes to try and hide my dark circles under my eyes and I use the green one on all of my red patches to try and cancel out the redness.

Over the top of those concealers I use a recent purchase, the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation (my shade is Ivory). This is perfect for summer as it has got spf 13 in it so you wont have to ruin your makeup by putting suncream beneath or above it. It also has got a very good coverage and is quite long lasting. To apply this is use one of the BS Mall makeup brushes mentioned in my last post (the round face brush).

On top of my foundation I use the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer (shade;fair 01). I really like this product as it helps highlight under my eyes and has got good coverage so it covers all of my blemishes well. I use the Real Techniques makeup sponge to apply this as it helps to blend it out and not make it look too cakey.

To set all of these products I use the Rimmel Clear Complexion powder (shade; 021 transparent) as this sets my makeup and keeps it in place for a few hours. I normally have to re powder my face halfway through the day but this is because of my oily skin.

To give my face a summery, warm glow I use the Benefit Hoola bronzer on my cheekbones, over my forehead and under my chin. Very little of this product goes a very long way and it is definitely worth the price.

To add a rosy tint to my face I use my NYX powder blush (shade; PB13 Mauve). I have mentioned this in many posts before because I love this product and use it a lot.

As for highlighter I use the MUA Undress Your Skin (shade; Pink Shimmer). You need to use quite a lot of this product to make a noticeable difference but I still really like the affect it gives. Highlight is important for a summer look as it makes you look more healthy and bright.

Next I move on to my eyes. To prime my eyes I use the Urban Decay Primer Potion. For this look I decided to use my Naked 2 palette as I love all of the shades and you can create so many different looks with it. I started by applying Tease all over my lid, then apply Pistol in my crease and it that's not sparkly enough I also add Verve in the crease. I then highlight my inner corner and brown bone using the shade Venus from the Naked Basics palette.

As for mascara I use the Maybelline Lash Sensational, I really like the wand of this mascara as it is very similar to Benefit Roller Lash but for a much cheaper price. It makes your eyelashes looks longer and adds volume.

Next I use my NYX Liquid Suede (shade; LSCL 07). I love this shade as its the perfect brown-nude and can match with almost any look. However, this colour isn't very bright or summery so sometimes I will swap it for my MAC lipstick in the shade Plumful.

Finally to fully set all of my makeup I use the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray, this keeps my makeup on all day and even when its raining! I love this product so much and its definitely worth the price.

BS Mall - Daisy Reviews ♡

Having good quality makeup brushes can help make your makeup look so much better. BS Mall kindly sent me one of their sets to try out and review.
I received the 'Professional Makeup Brush set (10pcs, Silver Black)'. This costs £8.99 on their amazon account and you get 10 brushes!! Each brush has its own individual shape and purpose.

The brush I was most excited to try out was the 'Face Round', this is supposed to be for applying powder but I used it to apply my foundation. As I love my Real Techniques buffing brush so much I really wanted to find one just like it, this is quite similar to it but it's bristles are closer together so its more like the expert face brush. However, it does apply exactly the same and gives my foundation the same finish.

The next brush I tried out was the 'Face Tapered' which is suggested to be used to conceal around nose and mouth. This brush was definitely fit for its purpose but is quite stiff so its not the easiest to blend with, I would definitely choose to use a beauty blender over this only because I feel like this takes away a lot of the coverage from the concealer.

Going along with the face brushes, I absolutely love the 'Face Flat' brush used for foundation. This one is definitely more like the Real Techniques buffing brush and feels exactly the same for such a lower price. My one downfall with this was the fact that is had a few hairs coming out but for the overall price you can't expect them all to be perfect. This is definitely my favourite brush out of the set and I can tell that I am going to be using this very often.

I am yet to try out the 'Face Flat Angled' brush which is supposed to be used for foundation around the eyes and nose because I prefer to use one brush to do my whole foundation base so that none of the product gets wasted. But I am definitely going to try this out soon possibly using it to do my whole base or concealer. This brush like all of the others feel amazing and is really soft.

The last big face brush I received was the 'Face Angled' brush used for blush and bronzer. This brush is definitely fit for its purpose and is the perfect size for any cheek products. It helps blend out bronzer really well and doesn't make it look cakey at all.

The next 5 brushes I received are all smaller and thinner but still maintain the amazing quality and softness. My favourite is the 'Small Round Brush' for eye shadow and primer. I will only be using it for eye shadow because I prefer to apply primer with my hands/fingers. This is the perfect brush for blending and I can't wait to continue using it. Its nothing like other brushes I have as they are all quite small so I love the fact this one is bigger.

The next brush I received is the 'Small Flat Brush' for concealing blemishes. I am yet to try this out because I have been trying out the bigger concealer brush but I also feel like this is too stiff to be able to fully blend out the concealer. I'm going to use this brush for eye shadow as I feel like it would be able to pack it on well with little fallout.

Another winner for me is the 'Small Angled Brush' which can be used for contouring hollows of cheeks or sides of nose. I love this for contouring the sides of my nose because its a reasonable size and picks up the right amount of product. However, this could also be used for eye shadow which I might also try out.

The next two brushes are very similar, they are the 'Small Flat Angled' brush and the 'Small Tapered' brush. They are both basically smaller versions of the big 'Tapered' brush, quite stiff and supposed to be used for concealer but I will be using them both for eye shadow because they will help pack it on to my eyelid maintaining the pigment.
All of the brushes
Overall, I'm really pleased with these brushes and know that I will definitely find use for each and every one of them. They all have simple packaging which I really like but only the larger ones have the names on them, the smaller ones don't but that's not very important. They all feel really good quality and are super smooth.

If you would like to check out these brushes click here. I really recommend that you do because they are so affordable yet so good.

I would like to thank BS Mall for sending me their lovely products to try out, I'm very grateful and hope you liked my review.

Recent Haul + First Impressions - Soph & Beth Beauty ♡

This month I have picked up many new products ranging from beauty to skin care so I decided to make a post about them and give you an insight on my first impression of them.

The first thing I purchased was the Rimmel 'Clear Complexion' powder in the shade '021 transparent' which cost £3.99 from Superdrug. I had been seeing many people talk about this online and one of my friends had recommended it to me so decided to give it a try myself. This powder helps prevent my shine throughout the day but I have noticed that it doesn't last the 5 hours which the packaging states. However, this could be because I have got very oily skin. It gives a matte finish and helps to hold all of my makeup in place. I will definitely be re-purchasing when this runs out.

As the weather has been getting hotter I decided that I wanted to add more bronze to my face to fit the season. I came across the Maybelline 'Dream Sun' in the shade '02 Brunette' and it cost £5.99. This includes 3 different shades which you can either blend together or use separately. Personally I prefer blending all of the shades together as I prefer the colour it gives off. Without realising when I purchased the product it has got quite an off-putting smell, luckily once its applied you can't smell it but if your fussy about that then this isn't for you.

Recently when I went to my local Boots I came across the new NYX stand, I was so excited and couldn't wait to try out some more of their products. I came out of Boots with 3 new products to try out and I'm sure I will be buying more very soon.
The first product I picked up was the NYX 'Jumbo Eye Pencil' in the shade 'Milk'. This cost £5.00 and is definitely worth it. I had wanted this for such a long time and I'm so happy that I have finally got it. So far I have used this as an eye shadow base, an inner corner highlight and for my waterline and it has worked perfectly every time. I like to use my finger to apply this/ to rub it in as I find it easier than using a brush.

The next thing I got was the NYX 'Liquid Suede' in the shade '07 LSCL'. This cost £6.50 and is an amazing dupe for some of the high end ones such as Kylie Lip Kits. As soon as I tested this on my hand I loved the formula and it wasn't too sticky or heavy. Its the perfect brown-nude.

The last product I got from NYX was one of the 'Highlight & Contour pro singles' in '03 Cream'. These are normally found in contour palettes which cost £18.00 but I only wanted this one for now so purchased it for £3.25. I really like this powder as it is perfect for setting my under eyes, I will definitely consider buying more of the singles in the future.

Also from Boots I picked up the BarryM 'Illuminating Strobe Cream' in the shade '2 Iced Bronze'. After testing this out on my hand I knew straight away that I wanted to get it. It glides on to your skin perfectly giving your skin a boost of highlight which doesn't look too cakey. This cost £4.49 and is amazing for that price. It comes with a lot of product and is build able if you want a more intense look.

After running out of my L'oreal 'Infallible Foundation' I knew that I needed to repurchase it, turns out they have changed the whole bottle and have slightly changed the formula. None of the less I still love this product and will continue to use it. This cost £9.99 and you can get so much usage out of it. This foundation has got a good amount of coverage and lasts me all day aslong as I top it with powder.

Something that I had been wanting to purchase for a very long time after loving a sample was the Urban Decay 'Eyeshadow Primer Potion' which costs £16.00. Even though it is quite pricey it makes such a difference to my eye shadow and makes it last all day, you can definitely tell a difference when you don't wear it.

The last 2 products which are both skincare are from the brand Clean and Clear. I got the 'deep action cream wash' and the 'blackhead clearing daily scrub' which are both oil-free. I always try to get oil-free products because my skin is oily enough already. Recently I have been really pleased with my skin and these 2 products have contributed towards that along with what I have from my doctors.
When I first tried out the face wash it had a tingling affect on my skin, this scared me and I took it off straight away just incase. However, it left my skin feeling amazing and smooth so I now assume that's supposed to happen. The wash cost £3.25.
The black head clearing scrub has helped quite a lot aswell and I have noticed a slight difference in those areas, this has a gentle feeling unlike many other scrubs and doesn't irritate my skin at all. This cost £3.75.

Swatches of some products mentioned...
nail varnish - urban outfitters; Ziggy
I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post as it is quite different from some of my usual ones and will be doing more in the future!

Trendz - Daisy Reviews ♡

Looking to treat yourself with a new phone case, laptop cover, camera case (the list is endless)? Look no further, we've got you covered.

Trendz were kind enough to send me and Soph each 2 of their products to try out and review. They specialise in everything from phone cases to tablet covers and even portable chargers!!

We both received the Trendz Slim Hardshell Patterned Fashionable Protective Case Cover for iPhone 6/6s in Floating Aqua. This costs £9.99 and is so worth it! The case is beautiful and has got floating hearts and glitter inside. Its super relaxing just watching all of the glitter float around. Even though I have seen things online about the liquid escaping cases like this one and being dangerous to the skin (not from this brand), this one is think and good quality so I don't think it will be able to. I have been obsessed with this case ever since it arrived and its one of my favourite cases I own.

The next item that only I received was the Trendz Patterned Protective Neoprene Sleeve Case Cover Bag for 13-Inch Laptops and Tablets in Ditsy Floral. This costs £14.99 and the quality is amazing. It is stitched very well and everything is very secure. I love the design on this as the blue fits perfectly with my room and you can't fault a cute floral pattern!

Both products came very well packaged, the phone case came in a little box which was inside a clear bag and the laptop came in a small cardboard sleeve (shown in picture above) in a clear plastic bag.
These products along with all of their other products would make amazing gifts or just something which you can get to treat yourself, I know that I am definitely going to be purchasing some more things from them very soon.

To get on to the Trendz website click; here.
However, if you have problems like I did with the website you can also find their products; here.

I would like to thank Emily for being so lovely to work with and Trendz for the amazing products.

(These products were sent to us but these are all our own opinions).

Arbonne Skin Care - Daisy Reviews ♡

Skincare is very important and it is vital that we look after our skin, Maimie Yelland kindly sent me 2 minis of Arbonne's skincare products to try out and review.

As soon as I received these products I was desperate to try them out and see what they did to my skin.
I started off by applying the 'Purifying Cleanser + Toner' to my face which had still got a full face of makeup on from the day. This product completely took off all of the makeup that I was wearing, even my waterproof mascara which is usually such a struggle to get off!! Straight after using this product I could feel such a difference in how smooth my skin was and it made it feel so healthy and refreshed.

Next I applied the 'Oil-Absorbing Day Lotion', even though this is a day lotion I was to eager to use it so used it as a night product instead. This worked really well and when I woke up my skin was so much less oily as it had absorbed a lot of it up. This made my skin feel amazing! It was super smooth and made my skin look glowing.

Both of these products have quite a subtle smell but they smell very fresh and natural. They are gluten free and are made with natural ingredients.

Arbonne also specialise in other products such as bath and body, hair, sun, makeup and nutrition. Meaning that they have a very large selection to choose from.

The full size of the 'Oil-Absorbing Day Lotion' costs £33.00. Even though this is high end I would still definitely recommend it if your looking for something which is actually going to help your skin and you are wanting to treat yourself.

The full size 'Purifying Cleanser + Toner' is £21,00, which is definitely more reasonable and I would definitely be more willing to pay for as I love this product and it is definitely up there with the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish.

To view the day lotion click here.
To view the cleanser and toner click here

I would like to thank Maimie Yelland for being so lovely and sending me a card along with the products, I'm very grateful and loved working with you.

(All opinions in this post are my own and I was not paid to say them).

Beth's Current Top 5 Mascaras - Soph & Beth Beauty ♡

Mascaras are an essential to every makeup look and can either make or break the look. After testing out many mascaras I have decided to put together a top 5 list which will range from drugstore to high-end.

(In no particular order)
All of the mascaras mentioned in this post.

1. An all time favourite for me is the Maybelline "the Colossal Volum' Express" in Waterproof. Priced at £6.99 I haven't been able to find many faults with this product, it provides quite a lot of volume and 0 clumps!! I really like the wand of this product and find that with only a few coats you can notice a real difference. My only fault with this product is that it is very hard to get off, even when using eye makeup remover, so a good recommendation if you need a product that helps you get waterproof eye makeup off is the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish.
If you do decide to purchase this product I recommend getting it from Boots because they very often have deals on with Maybelline.

2. A higher-end mascara which I have loved for a very long time is the Benefit "They're Real". This award winning mascara costs £19.50 and is worth every penny! You can get these in black, brown and blue but as I'm not that adventurous I prefer to stick to the classic black. This has a perfect applicator and I find it really easy to apply. My one downfall with this product is that if you apply too much of the product it can become quite clumpy and make your eyelashes stick together.

3. Another drugstore mascara that I have been loving for a while is the Rimmel "Extra 3D Lash". This is only £4.99 and I purchased it after seeing it mentioned in one of Sophie Clough's YouTube videos. This mascara is perfect for your lower lashes and for a base layer of mascara, I wouldn't say it provides lots of volume but it definitely helps define your lashes. The wand is a little bit smaller than Benefits "They're Real" but I find this helps because you can be more precise.

4. Another high-end mascara I recommend is the Urban Decay "Perversion" which costs £17.50. This mascara has beautiful striking packaging as you would expect with any Urban Decay product. The wand of this mascara is thicker than any of the others mentioned in this post but it is quite short so you can be precise with it. However, because the wand is quite thick it holds a lot of product meaning you don't need to do many coats so you get the full use out of the product.

5.  The final mascara is another drugstore product and its the Technic "Lashitude" mascara. Depending on where you purchase this from depends on how much you pay, the cheapest I found it for online was £1.65. I was kindly sent this mascara a very long time ago to review on my Instagram and since then it has definitely grown on me. As you can expect from the price its not the highest of quality but its perfect for school or a subtle look. The brush is very similar to the Benefit one but you can tell from looking at them side by side that there is a quality difference.

This is what all of the applicators look like...

These are just a few of my favourites and I'm sure as time goes on I will find more and ones to replace these so lookout for a future post with an updated list ;)

Beth's Top 5 Lip Products for Spring - Soph & Beth beauty ♡

Spring, the time for blue skies, blossoming flowers and buzzy-bees. It's time to put away your winter woolies, put together a new wardrobe and put together some new makeup fit the season.

I have decided to put together a top 5 list of lip products which I am going to be using throughout this season and hopefully it will in encourage you to try out some new shades!!

All of the lip products in total mentioned in this post.

The first lip product which I know I will be using a lot of throughout Spring is my MAC lipstick in the shade 'Plumful' 'AC3' which costs £15.50. I love this lipstick and it definitely suits the bright colours that Spring brings. The name describes the product very well, it is the perfect plum shade and I can't find any faults with it! Like any other MAC lipstick it has got simple but striking packaging and comes with a good amount of product.

The second lip product which I will be using throughout Spring is my Rimmel Colour Rush in the shade '200 Keep Mauving' which costs £5.99. This is a perfect Spring colour and goes with almost any outfit. Depending on how much product you put on depends on the strength of the colour but I find that little product can go a long way. The wear on this product is ok, I personally find that it wont stay on if I drink or eat but its a good size so can be easily travelled with and reapplied. It comes with a lot of product and is definitely worth the price.

The third lip product that I will be using is my I ♡ Makeup Lip Lava which is a Lip Lava in the shade 'Forgiven'. I recently purchased this and I'm so pleased that I did. I decided that I wanted to widen the variation of the colours that I wore on my lips so opted towards a nude colour as that is different for me. This is a perfect dupe for the Too Faced melted lipsticks for only £2.99!!!! I have only worn it a couple of times but so far I'm very pleased with it and will probably be purchasing more of the range very soon.

The fourth product that I will be using throughout the season is my Revlon lip butter in the shade 'Berry Smoothie' which is £7.99. I purchased this product last summer and love the shade of pink. It fits in very well with all of the bright colours that Spring brings along with it. You get a very good amount of product and it has got a very moisturising texture.

Last but not least, the fifth product that I will be using a lot throughout Spring is my 'Lolli Balm' from Benefit which costs £14.50. I have had this product for a while now and have had mixed opinions with it in the past, but after using it a lot more I have come to love the product as it is moisturising and is a subtle shade of pink. This is perfect for school or a look where you are focusing more on other parts of your face (eg. eyes) and don't want to draw away any attention.

Swatches for all of the lip products;

I love all of the products mentioned in this post and if your in need of updating or purchasing some new goodies for Spring I recommend all of the ones mentioned.

Mid February Favourites - Soph & Beth beauty ♡

As we are already in our second month of 2016, I decided to do a favourites post! I have collected together a group of things that I have been loving throughout the month of January and beginning of February.

Everything in total.

My first beauty favourite is the "Naked2" palette by Urban Decay (£38). I received this palette for Christmas and have been loving it ever since!! I really enjoy putting together new eyeshadow looks and experimenting with all of the different colours. My most used shadows from this palette would definitely be "Snakebite" and "Tease", I find that these colours make the perfect combination when put together. As much as I love this palette and couldn't recommend it enough, I'm aware that it is quite pricy especially if you are just getting in to using makeup, the brand "Revolution" make eyeshadow palettes which are very similar to the Naked range for a much better and affordable price! The only downfall with these would be that they are not as pigmented.

My second beauty favourite is "Prep+Prime Fix+" by MAC(£18). A while ago I saw the mini of it and had to pick it up as I had heard so many great reviews about it. After falling in love with the product myself, I had to go out and purchase the full size! Ever since purchasing it I have been using it constantly and I'm very pleased with it.

My third beauty favourite is a KIKO lipstick, it does not have a name but its number is "913". This lipstick was in the sale and I think I purchased it for around £4. It is quite a dark pink colour and comes out very strong, meaning that you barely need to use any of the product up and it will last a long time! I have been loving wearing this colour for the past 2 months and I'm super happy that I purchased it.
Swatches (left to right),
1 = KIKO lipstick
2 = Snakebite Naked2
3 = Tease Naked2

My fourth and last beauty favourite is the "Real Cheeky Party" gift set from Benefit which I received for Christmas. I have always been in love with Benefits blushes and wanted to try all of them out after just having tried samples. This set meant that I was able to try out all of the most popular ones. It also came with a "hoola bronzer" a  "they're real push up liner" a "they're real mascara" and "what's up highlighter" (added bonus!!). My favourite blush would definitely have to be "Sugarbomb" closely followed by "Rock" as I find that these two are better matches for my skintone.

As for other favourites this month, I have been loving the Chanel nail varnish that Soph got me for Christmas in the shade "535, May". Its a lovely light pink colour and it looks amazing on my nails!! You can either leave it how it comes out or add a sparkly top coat which also looks really good.

This month I have been loving one of my old favourites which is "The Glam Guide" by Fleur De Force. I find that her book helped me a lot with makeup and I absolutely love all of the images and details that she included inside!! Definitely my favourite of the youtubers books.
Click here to look at it on Amazon.

My current favourite beauty YouTubers are Eve Bennett, Anastasia Kingsnorth and Tati (who Soph recently got me in to watching, thanks Soph!!). As soon as I see them in my subscription box I am quick to click on their videos and watch them. Anastasia and Eve do beauty, lifestyle and general videos, so something for everyone. However Tati usually just focuses on beauty videos and she has helped me with so many of my makeup decisions!!

And my favourite blog at the moment is Liv's blog, click here to check it out! Its amazing and her posts are so detailed with lovely pictures.
